Astrology is a science or skill of interpreting the influence of the planets and other heavenly bodies within our Solar system or beyond on human beings and their position in the world. Each individual is unique and special, which is also visible in its horoscope. Astrology offers powerful keys to understanding but no simple solutions to the problems of life.

This ancient knowledge about the stars investigates the degree of determination as opposed to the freedom of choice. As such, the astrological system is conceptually controverse as well as highly intriguing. Understanding the etymology of the word Astrology is relatively simple. Like many words that are used today, Astrology has its roots in the Greek language. The word Astrology is directly derived from the word Astrologia "telling of the stars," from Astron star + logia "treating of", or logical application of the knowledge about the stars.

There are many prejudices related to astrology. For the beginners in Astrology it is probably best if they can put aside all prejudices and superstitions and with critical but open mind plunge into the wondrous world of self-discovery and astrology.
